What it does

Listener: Now Playing turns an iPad into an ambient display for whatever music is playing nearby:

Continuously listens for music playing in the room and identifies it using Apple’s ShazamKit
Displays album art, song title, and artist full-screen, readable from across the room
Keeps a short on-screen history of recently recognized tracks
Designed to sit propped up next to a stereo, CD player, or radio — no phone required

Frequently asked

Does it need an internet connection? Yes. Matching a song against Apple’s Shazam catalog requires a network connection.

Does it collect or store my data? No audio is ever recorded or saved. A brief audio fingerprint is sent to Apple’s ShazamKit service to identify the track; nothing else leaves the device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Does it work on iPhone? No. Listener is built specifically for iPad.

Not affiliated with or endorsed by Shazam or Apple beyond use of the public ShazamKit framework.
